Supported Independence

Judson Center's Supported Independent Living Program (SIP) gives adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness in Oakland County the opportunity to live in their own apartments or homes with the proper support. A team determines how much supervision and exactly what support each person will need. This program supports the individual transitioning through stages of independence, demonstrating their individualized readiness for expanded personal responsibility and increased independence.

Judson Center also provides Community Living Support (CLS) for adults in Oakland County. Staff will go into an individual's home to provide social activities and teach the adults many skills such as how to shop for groceries, cook, budget their money etc. Judson staff work with the participants both in the community and in their family's homes.
