Founded in 1924, Judson Center has been proudly serving the greater southeastern Michigan community for nearly 100 years. A non-profit human services organization, Judson Center has increased its physical footprint over the years and the agency has added to its impressive list of comprehensive services so we can serve our extended community even better.

Since we opened our doors for the first time almost a century ago, Judson Center has provided services for many individuals. Just this past year, more than 10,000 children, adults and families have benefitted from our dedication to our work. We’re thrilled and humbled to have had the opportunity to provide family preservation community services to so many individuals and families. And we look forward to providing similar services to those who need them for years to come.

What We Do

Judson Center exists to enhance the lives of the people who seek care on our campuses. We strive to help everyone who walks through our doors to live their best lives regardless of their age or condition. We labor tirelessly to restore the innocence of children who’ve suffered abuse or neglect. Our staff members work hard to give people with physical or developmental disabilities, emotional problems and autism spectrum disorder the highest quality of life they can possibly achieve.

We provide primary and behavioral healthcare to patients of all ages. Judson Center offers vocational, non-vocational and soft skills training to people with and without disabilities, too. We provide employment services for adults year-round and we help teens living with disabilities get paid work experience every summer. Our staff members fully support the people we place in paid positions long after they become gainfully employed.

We even offer respite care for children. When their primary caregivers need a break or life temporarily calls the caregivers in a different direction, children with disabilities can stay at Lahser Children’s Respite Home and receive personalized care from attentive staff who are intimately familiar with their needs.

We are proud to help foster independence in kids of all ages, and Judson Center looks forward to introducing more innovative programs that can empower everyone in our community to live their best life. We’re proud to be a valued community resource and a proven thought leader in the area of family preservation and community services, and we consider it an honor to serve residents throughout southeastern Michigan.

We are also happy to announce the addition of our family health clinic. In addition to providing primary and preventative care, we also assist individuals of all ages when habits, behaviors, stress, worry or emotional concerns interfere with a person’s daily life and/or overall health. Doctors, nurses, medical assistants, certified dieticians, community mental health workers and behavioral health specialists all work together in an integrated approach to maintain individuals’ total health. The goals of these specialists are to improve your overall well-being, provide individualized attention to your specific needs, provide access to free wellness classes and health coaching, help you become more knowledgeable about your health conditions, help you take charge of your health and your life and just feel better! In addition to providing care for stress, trauma, anxiety, insomnia, anxiousness and Autism Spectrum Disorder, our family health clinic also offers well child visits, physicals, preventive care, screenings/tests and treatment of chronic conditions (diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma) Our integrated approach to treating behavioral and physical health is what makes Judson Center Family Health Clinic an innovative venue for individual health care needs.

Our Mission

Our mission sums up Judson Center’s purpose perfectly. Our mission reads as follows:

“To provide expert, comprehensive services in southeastern Michigan that strengthen children, adults and families impacted by abuse and neglect, autism, developmental disabilities and mental health challenges so they are successful in their communities.”

Our Vision

Just like our mission says a lot about the reason Judson Center exists, so does our vision. Here is the vision Judson Center is actively trying to make a reality:
