Farmington Hills, MI – Supporters of Judson Center and its affiliate, Child Safe Michigan, had a great time for a good cause at the human services agency’s 15th annual “Pull! for Kids” sporting clays tournament on September 19th at the Detroit Golf Club in Walled Lake.
The event raised more than $75,000 to benefit Child Safe Michigan’s foster care, adoption and mentoring services for neglected and abused children in Southeast Michigan.
“Each year, this event generates much-needed funds that enable us to expand our ability to reach more children and families who need the services of Child Safe Michigan,” said Judson Center President & CEO Lenora Hardy-Foster. “We welcomed Child Safe into the Judson Center family in 2015 because the program is a perfect fit for our legacy in the community as an organization that helps children and families thrive. Judson Center is proud to be celebrating 100 years of transforming lives through unwavering care.”
One of the highlights of the day came during the program and awards ceremony following the tournament. Child Safe Michigan mentor Kenneth Isaacson delivered a moving testimonial about his personal experiences as a teenager in foster care and how Child Safe now provides an outlet for him to help others in the foster care system. “It’s the only place in my life where my darkest traumas serve the brightest purpose,” he told attendees.
Guests, ranging from novices to pro shooters, participated in a 16-station sporting clays course. The entry fee covered lunch, range fees, shells, sporting clays, safety equipment, and refreshments along the course.
The presenting sponsor for the tournament was Huron Valley Guns. Additional sponsors included: Superior Enterprise Holdings Inc.; RF Connect; Flat Rock Metal Inc.; Ruby + Associates; Bar Processing Corporation; Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep; Trijicon; Precision Global Systems; PVS Chemicals; Asylum; Steel Dimensions Inc.; Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C.; James Rocchio; Seraspec; Bloomfield Construction; Little Seedlings Childcare; and Whitlock.
