Autism is a developmental disability that generally appears before the age of three.  It is a condition that impacts the normal development of the brain in the areas of social interaction, communication skills and behavior.  Although there is no clear-cut cause for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), it is widely believed to be caused by a combination of genetic predisposition and environmental triggers.
