 Behavior Services 

The principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, an evidence-based therapy effective for building skills, is the basis of our In-Home ABA program and Behavior Consultations. All Behavior Services are supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. 

In-Home ABA program is designed to:  

  • Improve basic skills
  • Teach academic and communication skills
  • Increase functional behaviors
  • Decrease challenging behaviors 

**ABLLS-R Assessment is used to develop the treatment plan 

Behavior Consults are designed for families struggling with challenging behaviors and includes:

  • A comprehensive behavior assessment
  • A written behavior plan
  • Training and support to implement the plan at home 

 

 

 

Social Skills Groups

Preschool Playtime (ages 3-6)
This group provides young children with the opportunity to play with peers in a structured and recreational setting. Our Autism Specialists will incorporate foundational group readiness and social interaction skills into a variety of fun activities, including music, art, and gross motor play. Skills will focus on building attention, following group rules, and interacting appropriately with peers. 1:3 staff to child ratio. Attendance is not required at all days and parents can pick which days they want their child to attend. RSVPs are required prior to attending.

Kids Club (ages 7-10)
Kids Club is a social skills group designed to help children increase their social confidence, peer  interactions, and understanding of social rules. Kids Club blends traditional social skills curriculum (conversational skills, turn-taking, inviting friends to play, etc.) with a sensory and emotional regulation component (How Does Your Engine Run?), connecting emotional regulation with peer interaction. This group is designed for children with basic foundational social skills and conversation language skills. 1:5 staff to child ratio.

Fun & Games
(ages 7-10)

This is a social skills group designed to help children increase their social confidence, peer interactions, and understanding of social rules. We will provide opportunities for children to practice conversational skills, turn-taking, inviting friends to play, etc. with a sensory component. This group is designed for children who need support with basic social skills and language skills. 1:3 staff to child ratio.

Celebrate Sibs
These sibling workshops acknowledge that being the brother or sister of a person with special needs is for some a good thing, others a not-so-good thing, and for many, somewhere in between. They reflect the belief that siblings have much to offer one another, if given the chance. Our workshops are a spirited mix of new games, new friends and discussion activities.

FRIENDS Group
The FRIENDS group provides social and recreational activities for teens and adults who need support and supervision in the community. Two events are planned each month and held on the weekend.

Club Epic
A social and recreational program designed for young men who are on the autism spectrum. Meetings are held at GP Memorial Church the 3rd Friday of each month and community outings are scheduled monthly.

Family Support Services

Winter Break Away (ages 6-16)

On break from school with nothing to do? Let Judson Center Grosse Pointe help fill your child’s hours during the break from school! Break Away activities consist of structured activities, weaving in both play and social opportunities for the children involved. Children must be able to participate in a setting with a 1:4 staff to child ratio.

Parents Night Out (ages 6-16)

Parents, you deserve a break! Drop ALL your kids off at Judson Center Grosse Pointe for a night of movies, snacks, games and FUN! Let us provide a fun night in for the kids while you get a night out!
